Tulum(Mexico)

Tulum is the ruins of a Mayan walled city along the east coast of the Yucatan Peninsula on the Caribbean Sea.

Temple of the God of Wind (Templo Dios del Viento )    It seems to have been a guardhouse or a lighthouse.

Cancun, located at the 128 km north of Tulum, is well-known as a Caribbean coast resort.

Before dinner, enjoyed in a swimming pool of the stayed hotel.

Chichen Itza (Mexico)

Chichen Itza, located in Yucatán State, Mexico, was a city built by the Maya.  it's designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

El Castillo  (Temple of Kukulkan or Kukulcan pyramid)   Kukulcan, a serpent with feather, was a deity in Maya.

El Castillo is famous for the serpent effect to be observed on the Kukulcan sculpture at the base of the northern staircase during spring and autumn equinox.

El Castillo has a steep staircase with ninety-one steps on each of four sides.

Ball Court    The Maya ballgame was more than just an athletic event. It was also a sacrificial and religious event.

The Ball Court with 150 m long is said to have been the largest in Mesoamerica.

Palenque , an ancient Maya city which was flourished in the 7th century, is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  ↓ The Palace

Pyramid of the Magician in Uxmal, an ancient Maya city.    Uxmal is one of the most important archaeological site of Maya culture.

Kabah, an another Maya archaeological site south of Uxmal   ↓ Codz Poop palace in Kabah

The facade is decorated with hundreds of stone masks of the long-nosed rain god Chaac.

Oaxaca (Mexico)

Heading to Oaxaca from Mexico City for the sightseeing of Mitla and Monte Alban.

Mitla, the important ruins of Zapotec culture.  The name Mitla is derived from the Nahuatl name Mictlán, which means the place of the dead.

Palace at Mitla       Red plaster remains on the wall.

Monte Alban, another important ruins of Zapotec culture.


Main ruins, Main Plaza, Platform, Palace, Ballgame court, Observatory and so on, are in the range of east-to-west 200m and south-to-north 300m.

The arrow-like shape building in Main Plaza is said that was an observatory.

Teotihuacan (Mexico)

Teotihuacan is the ruins of an ancient Mesoamerican city, located in 50 km northeast from Mexico City.

The central avenue is called 'The Avenue of the Dead'.   The Pyramid of the Moon at the end of the avenue and the Pyramid of the Sun on right side.

The Pyramid of the Moon with the base of 150 m by 120 m and the height of 46 m

The Avenue of the Dead with 4 km long, 45m wide.

The Pyramid of the Sun with the base of 225 m by 225 m and the height of 65 m. It's said to be the third largest pyramid in the world.

Mexico City (Mexico)

Catedral Metropolitana de la Ciudad de México       The Metropolitan Cathedral was built by the Spaniards over the ruins of the main Aztec temple.

Palacio Nacional  (The National Palace of Mexico)    It has the President office inside.

Diego Rivera's mural depicting Mexico's history at the National Palace.
